A visit to a friends new cottage in late august inspired a walk around the (remote) neighbourhood. The roadside ditches were in bloom with the abundantly hardy perennial performers that infiltrate incidental landscapes. Some might call them weeds but I am drawn to their vigor, their colour and enthusiasm.
